PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a natural treatment used to slow hair loss and stimulate regrowth. It uses your own blood, from which a platelet-rich plasma concentrated in growth factors is extracted. These factors play an essential role in cell regeneration and hair follicle stimulation. Prepared just before injection, PRP is a biocompatible treatment that greatly limits the risk of allergy or rejection.
How does hair PRP work?
After a small blood draw, the blood is centrifuged to separate the platelet-enriched plasma.
This concentrate is then injected directly into the scalp, in the areas concerned.
The growth factors in PRP help:
- 01
improve scalp vascularisation,
- 02
stimulate hair follicle activity,
- 03
strengthen the hair bulb,
- 04
prolong the hair growth phase.
The treatment thus helps achieve stronger, denser hair and a significant slowing of hair loss.
Recommended protocol
- 01
3 sessions, spaced 1 month apart,
- 02
then 1 maintenance session at 6 months.
The first results are visible after the 3rd session, about 3 months after the start of treatment.
How a session unfolds
The session lasts about 40 minutes, including PRP preparation and the injections.
Injections are performed intradermally with very fine needles and are generally well tolerated.
After the session, mild, temporary sensations may appear:
- local warmth,
- itching,
- a feeling of tightness of the scalp.
These effects usually disappear within 24 to 48 hours and do not require social downtime.
Main indications
Hair PRP is indicated in cases of:
- 01
androgenetic alopecia,
- 02
unexplained diffuse or localised hair loss,
- 03
telogen effluvium (including postpartum),
- 04
progressive thinning of the hair.
Expected results
PRP helps achieve:
- 01
a slowing of hair loss,
- 02
an improvement in hair quality,
- 03
an increase in hair density.
The average increase in density observed at 3 months is about 20%, with results still visible at 6 months and 1 year after treatment.
Combining it with other anti-hair-loss treatments enhances the result.
Treated areas
- 01
Vertex (crown of the head)
- 02
Temples
- 03
Full scalp
- 04
Localised areas (patches)
Hair PRP is a natural, safe and effective solution to slow hair loss and stimulate gradual regrowth, while respecting the balance of the scalp.
