Acne scars, surgical or traumatic scars, and stretch marks can alter the look and evenness of the skin. Two complementary technologies lastingly improve skin texture: non-ablative fractional Erbium Glass CO₂ laser (ORIGIN® type) and ablative fractional CO₂ laser. These treatments act in depth on collagen fibres to smooth, firm and revitalise the skin.
Erbium Glass laser – biostimulation & fast recovery
Origin Erbium Glass laser creates thermal micro-wells in the dermis using photothermolysis.
This technique very quickly heats target cells (such as fibroblasts) while preserving the epidermis, which:
- 01
Strongly stimulates collagen production,
- 02
Improves overall skin quality,
- 03
Reduces scars and stretch marks,
- 04
Offers fast recovery and optimal comfort,
- 05
Progressive improvement without interrupting daily activities.
Ablative fractional CO₂ laser – deep remodelling & correction of irregularities
Fractional CO₂ laser acts more deeply by vaporising fine columns of tissue, while preserving healthy areas for fast healing. It targets intracellular water, causes thermal remodelling and stimulates type I and III collagen formation.
This treatment is particularly suited to:
- 01
Deep scars,
- 02
Texture irregularities,
- 03
Pronounced wrinkles,
- 04
Some spots.
Depending on treatment intensity, downtime can range from a few days (redness, peeling effect) to two weeks (swelling, scabs). Improvement continues for up to 6 months after the session.
How many sessions are needed?
Depending on scar severity, a protocol may include:
- 01
Non-ablative Erbium Glass laser: 2 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart.
- 02
Ablative fractional CO₂ laser: 1 to 3 sessions, spaced 2 to 3 months apart
An annual maintenance session may be recommended to optimise results.
How the session unfolds
- 01
The skin is cleansed and the eyes are protected.
- 02
An anaesthetic cream is applied 1 hour before treatment.
- 03
The laser creates a grid of micro-impacts that triggers internal remodelling.
- 04
After the session: redness, heat or tightness are normal.
- 05
A healing cream and a gentle cleanser must be used.
- 06
Make-up is allowed after a few days, depending on the technique used.
Main precautions & contraindications
These treatments are contraindicated in cases of:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding,
- Active dermatosis (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea…),
- Active herpes,
- Recent use of retinoids or isotretinoin,
- recent tanning or self-tanner,
- Tendency to melasma,
- Very dark phototypes (especially for CO₂),
- Conditions with scarring risk (keloids, uncontrolled diabetes…).
SPF50+ sun protection is essential before and after treatment to avoid post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Results / aftercare
Both techniques allow:
- 01
A visible improvement in skin texture,
- 02
Progressive smoothing of scars,
- 03
Firmer, more even skin,
- 04
A lasting effect thanks to collagen renewal.
- 05
No sun exposure of the treated area for 1 month,
- 06
Protection of the treated area with SPF50 cream.
Results continue to evolve for several months, offering a gradual, natural transformation.
