Dr Laurence Walon
Aesthetic dermatologist
Dr Laurence Walon had a very sporty childhood and adolescence, but medicine was always a true passion for her, despite there being no doctors at all in her family. She began her medical studies at UCL (Cliniques Universitaires St Luc) in 1994 at the age of 18, and followed a fine path in order to sit the Dermatology competitive examination in 2001 and become a dermatologist in 2005.
Dr Walon began her practice by combining hospital work (at CHIREC) with a private practice in Waterloo. Always drawn to the aesthetic side of dermatology, Dr Walon quite quickly undertook further training in Belgium and abroad, and herself became a trainer in aesthetic dermatology (in collaboration with Laboratoire Galderma) 20 years ago, for dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Dr Walon was also an expert physician at L'Oréal Paris France from 2020 to 2024 (member of the European Dermatologists' Committee, representing Belgium and France).
The woman of «today» wants to stay beautiful AND natural. She wishes to keep her features but look more rested. She wants to slow and prevent this process of skin ageing. A woman no longer wants it to «show»; she waits to be told that she has a radiant complexion. Demand from men is steadily growing. The ways of treating a man's wrinkles differ from those used for a woman. Men, too, are looking to slow the process of skin ageing, and even to prevent it.
