MICRONEEDLING – MESOTHERAPY WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is an anti-ageing technique that uses an electric device (Dermapen) fitted with single-use fine needles. These micro-needles create micro-perforations in the different layers of the dermis and epidermis.
This treatment stimulates the activity of the cells responsible for skin quality: fibroblasts (the cells that produce collagen and elastin).
This stimulation triggers collagen production, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, densifies the skin and visibly improves its texture.
MICRONEEDLING: FOR WHOM AND WHY?
This medical-aesthetic treatment aims to improve skin quality and complexion radiance.
It does not replace treatments for deep wrinkles (hyaluronic acid or botulinum toxin injections), but it helps prevent their appearance.
Microneedling can be performed on any skin type, whatever its colour.
It notably allows:
- Intradermal penetration of active ingredients (hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, polypeptides, exosomes…);
- A glow effect, illumination and evening of the complexion;
- Stimulation of cell renewal and collagen production, which firms and smooths the skin
- Smoothing of imperfections;
- Reduction of pigment spots;
- Reduction of enlarged pores;
- Reduction of acne scars.
HOW A SESSION UNFOLDS
The practitioner determines the area to treat. Needle choice depends on the area, skin type and the desired effect.
On make-up-free, disinfected skin, several passes are made over the different areas of the face. Needle depth is adjusted according to the indications.
Active ingredients (hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, …) are applied during the treatment to encourage their deep penetration.
At the end of the session, the skin may be slightly pink. Small bleeding may be seen when the work is deeper. The treatment is generally well tolerated.
Redness may persist for a few hours.
It is advisable to apply a healing cream in the following days (Cicalfate, Cicaplast) to encourage skin regeneration.
We recommend avoiding sun exposure for 15 days after the session.
Facial make-up is allowed from day 4 after treatment.
TREATMENT FREQUENCY
A microneedling session lasts about 30 minutes.
A protocol of 4 to 6 sessions is recommended, one session every 2 weeks.
A maintenance session is then advised to maintain results, generally every 3 months.
